ReplyDeletehi, mdm.i have read ur post, will be keep in touch
ReplyDeleteOk dear.. Tq
Deletehai Madam Nee..morning and happy working
ReplyDeleteThe primary difference between education and knowledge is that education is formal process whereas knowledge is informal experience which can be gained in our daily life
hihi.. Good morning and happy teaching to u..
ReplyDeleteOk good.. try to elaborate in depth.
TQ dear
hi, mdm! glad to be here...
Delete1) I think education is the developmental process imparted in formal institutions like schools, colleges and other universities. One has to pass the exams to qualify for a degree. It may be the result of reading good books extensively, or may be the outcome of good worldly education gained through experience. We know that education is time bound. In my opinion, knowledge is a self-learning process, it may be acquired through discussions with peer group or etc. The whole life can be a process of gaining knowledge. Knowledge has no relation with age.One can be knowledgeable at an early stage or even in an adult stage.
2)thinking skills are the mental activities we use to process information, create new ideas, make connections and make decisions. everybody has thinking skills but not everyone use them effectively. yes, there are 3 categories of thinking skills.first, critical thinking, second is analytical thinking, and thirdly creative thinking.
ReplyDelete*analytical thinking-bringing facts and data together from various sources and then applying logic and knowledge to solve problems or to make informed decision.eg:-discovering a more efficient and productive way to complete a particular job task.
*critical thinking-analysis and evaluation of information, beliefs or knowledge.Critical thinking skills include the ability to interpret, verify, and reason, all of which involve applying the principles of logic.e.g:-Why does the band keep playing as the Titanic sinks? Why don’t the musicians leave when they have a chance?
*creative thinking-generation of new ideas breaking from established thoughts, theories, rules, and procedures.e.g:-Sentence building - give a selection of words; how many different sentences can you make - could include selection of punctuation too.
3)In any case, education must be a collaboration of teachers, students, parents, and administrators who all understand the necessity of honest communication. Not everyone can be a leader; I believe it’s important for those that are in leadership positions to understand their limitations.
ReplyDeletehi madam. I am Faridah Yaakub.
ReplyDeleteFor me, education teaches you facts and concepts and how to use them. knowledge consists of valuable information that can be applied.
Education is what is actually taught to you. It's knowledge that one has gained on the result of teaching being the intention. It's not accidental knowledge. It's what you have learnt from an institution, school and so on. Perhaps it isn't knowledge at all that you learn, just facts and ideas of peoples. It's learning what is already known-knowledge is personal. It can come from a variety of different sources, parents, friends, teachers, siblings, pain, suffering and so on. There's no guideline for knowledge. There is no curriculum. It's what you learn as a result of life itself. It's not taught.
Q 1
ReplyDelete1.Education is a formal process of gaining knowledge whereas knowledge is informally acquired through experiences.
2.Education needs institutions for learning while knowledge has no boundaries.
3.Education has a defined set of rules and curriculum whereas knowledge has no such limitations.
4.Education is learned from books and grows with age while knowledge is free to be acquired from surroundings and has no age limit
QUESTION 2
ReplyDeleteHi madam. I’m Faridah Yaakub. I want to answer the second question about thinking skills. Thinking skills is divided into a few categories which are analytical thinking, implemental thinking, practical thinking, critical thinking and creative thinking. I will discuss about four of them. Analytical thinking/convergent thinking is the analysis of the fact, is required to prove/disprove the hypotheses. It provides on understanding of issues and drivers behind the problems whereas divergent thinking –breaking a topic apart to explore its various components and then gathering new ideas and solutions. Implemental thinking – implementation is the carrying out ,execution/practice of a plan, a method/any design for doing something. As such ,implementation is the action that must follow any preliminary thinking in order for something to actually happen .In other words, it is the process of putting ideas into act. Practical thinking is another term for thinking, knowing and remembering . Does the way we think really matter? May be by studying the way we think, we can eventually think better. It actually depends on thinking in a practical “possible way”. Critical thinking is a very important skill to develop. Critical thinking in general, refers to higher-order thinking that questions assumptions. It is the way of deciding whether a claim is true, false or sometimes true and sometimes false, or partly true and partly false. Critical thinking also is an analysis and evaluation of information, belief / knowledge. Critical thinking refers to the process of actively analyzing, synthesizing and/or evaluating and reflecting on information gathered from observation, experience, or communication and is focused on deciding what to believe or do. Critical thinking is considered a higher order thinking skills, such as analysis, synthesis and problem solving, inference and evaluation.
QUESTION 3
The third question is about leadership skills mentioned in MEB.
For me, leadership skills can be explained in two categories which are for higher education and for pre-school to post secondary education. For higher education – Leadership skills is an effective communicator, emotionally intelligent and able to work across cultures; is socially responsible, competitive, resilient and confident. For pre-school to post-secondary school education, leadership skills has strong communication skills, is entrepreneurial, resilient, can lead and work in teams.
QUESTION 4
ReplyDeleteBillingual proficiency
For me, every child, will be at minimum, operationally in Bahasa Malaysia as the national language and language of the unity, and in English as the international language of communication. This means, that upon leaving school, the student should be able to work in both of Bahasa Malaysia and English language environment. The Ministry will also encourage the students to learn an additional language.
Therefore, the school and teachers should inculcate the spirit of love for the language such as in language activities, literature and culture through association besides teaching in the classroom. Another thing is that the school and teachers should step up efforts and use of the English language either formal or informal because they are exemplary for the students. They should also use Bahasa Malaysia in conversation, conduct of meetings and school assemblies and reproduce reading materials either in Bahasa Malaysia or English..This is to upholding the Bahasa Malaysia as well as to strengthen the English language ( MBMMBI).Again, the school and teachers should review and design the map of journey , ensure that all the resources and sufficient information to lead successful destination.
QUESTION 5
5.Ethnics and Spirituality
The education system will inculcate strong ethics of spirituality in every child to prepare them to rise to the challenges they will inevitably face in adult life, to resolve conflicts peacefully, to employ sounds judgements and principles during critical moments , and to have the courage to do what is right. The education systems also seek to nurture caring individuals who gainfully contribute to the betterment of the community and nation.
Therefore, the school and teachers should need to constantly update one by bringing changes to students and giving future generation’s dynamic and proactive students. Other than that, they need to developed attitudes and values in the students so as to guide and nurture them to become loyal citizens, responsibility and respect for all people of different cultures, races and religion as well as having a high level of morality.
In addition, the school and teachers should demonstrate the love, warmth and provide learning experiences that are meaningful and quality, as they can be substitute parents and treat them who are hungry for love and affection of their parents.
QUESTION 6
To answer this question, from my point of view, every child will proudly identify as Malaysian, irrespective of ethnicity, religion/ socio-economic status. Achieving this patriotism requires that every child understand the country’s history, and shares common aspirations for the future. Establishing a true national identity also requires a strong sense of inclusiveness. This can be achieved through not only learning to understand and accept diversity, but to embrace it. Therefore, the school an teachers should involved the students in community activities organized by the local community as a family carnival, cultural activities and collaborative programme. This will help the students to mingle and to get to know the practice and culture of the different ethnics in Malaysia.
That’s all my comments about the questions given. Thank you.

hi mdm.
ReplyDelete4)When two or more languages are part of a child's world, we are presented with a rich opportunity to learn something about language in general and about how the mind works. People usually become bilingual because they need it in their day-to-day lives. As a result the degree of bilingualism may vary from one individual to another. Bilinguals are not necessarily perfectly fluent in their languages, it is in fact quite common to have a dominant language. It is to be noted that being able to express ourselves in two languages takes time. It is not after studying a language for six months that one can become bilingual.
good morning Madam Nee
ReplyDelete4. Bilingual Proficiency
Bilingualism is complex and varies widely among individuals. In order to understand a bilingual speaker’s language ability, we need to know when they learned their languages, how proficient they are in the languages, and in what contexts (and with whom) they use the languages. Bilingual speakers learn their languages either simultaneously, as they grow up, or sequentially, learning the second language after the first (usually at school). The degree of proficiency bilingual people achieve in their languages often depends on the wider society’s attitudes to the languages concerned and the opportunities available to use them. Bilingual speakers may use their languages equally, but they often use particular languages in particular contexts, for particular purposes, and with particular people.
In terms of bilingual proficiency, every student should be able to work in both Bahasa Malaysia and English language environments and will be encouraged to learn additional languages
